Line and Space, LLC |
|
Line and Space, LLC was founded in Tucson, Arizona by Les Wallach, FAIA, to facilitate the design and building of innovative and ecologically sound architectural projects. Their work on projects throughout the Western United States, Hawaii and China has been published worldwide and has received 100 design awards and recognition.
Line and Space strives for the quiet integration of structure and landscape - projects encourage and demonstrate notions of environmental stewardship. Being students of regional cultural influences, they favor the deeper meaning of metaphor, entry sequence, scale, materials, color and form; all of which are important in successful architecture. Since 1978, Line and Space has studied and perfected their understanding of the climate and the land. Extensive programming helps to define the true needs of both the client and the site. Their architecture shows reverence to the textures and form of the fragile environment. Their engineering recognizes the cooling effects of shade, shadow, and the efficient use of water and wind in harsh surroundings. Their buildings take advantage of native materials and their affordability. The power of stone, masonry and concrete, sensitively juxtaposed with the delicacy of wood, metal and color, are a tribute of their mastery at building. Above all, the work of Line and Space demonstrates that architecture is an art - one that should please the senses while uplifting the spirit. |
