The industrial designer Rubens Simes founder of Riva in 1988, Caxias do Sul, in southern Brazil the proposal to become a benchmark in the art of blending function and design of the highest quality. To date, is ahead of the production of the pieces, from the design concept, through coordination of all other stages. Graduated in Economics from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), Rubens studied Industrial Design at PUC-RJ and specializes in cutlery in some major cutlery factories in Europe Cutipol in Portugal and Sambonet, Italy.
Winner of the first prize in the category utensils Museu da Casa Brasileira in 2007 and 2008, one of the most important in Brazil, Rubens Simes also received the German iF Design Award 2006 and was appointed to Designpreis in 2007 and 2011, the years 2008 and 2011 received the disputed Red Dot seal of quality and also won the Good Design Award in 2009 and 2010. In 2013, Rubens was awarded another iF Design Award. That same year, Riva was the only Brazilian company and win iF two in the same year. |
