Entry Description

The fit out of a refurbished tobacco warehouse in London’s Clerkenwell provides 2,700sqm of flexible workspace over six levels for 300 members of staff. The original structure and architectural details of the historic building are retained and complemented by the use of industrial finishes, exposed service elements and an eclectic mix of furniture. The finished working environment supports agile working by incorporating a large number of different work settings for activities away from the desk. The carefully considered spaces range from private telephone booths to open spaces for presentations and events, encouraging staff collaboration and creativity. Consistent technology interfaces across varied settings enable complete agility for teams to move and flex in size. Mobile elements for storage, write walls and TVs support the high level of flexibility required on the floor plates. The client invested in a large number of bespoke furniture items and fittings, beautifully crafted by specialist contractors.
