Entry Description

Design a jewel box of an ultra-low-footprint apartment in 420sf (~39 m2).Background What if we could save money, radically reduce our environmental impact, and have a freer, less complicated life? we need to have less stuff and live in smaller spaces, like the 420sf (~39 m2) apartment he will renovate in 2011. With some design and technology magic, we think 420 square feet can allow for working at home, space for 2 guests to stay over, a sit-down dinner for 12, lounge space for 8, and maybe even a steam room. DESIGN GOAL: •a sit-down dinner for 12 •a living room for 8 people •space for 2 guests with some visual and ideally auditory privacy •a home office •a work area with space for a rolling tool chest •a hideable kitchen VIDEO: http://vimeo.com/20460428user6161010/5in1 sufficient spaces-- capacious view for living room, masterbedroom, office. full functional kitchen. eco-friendly bathroom with steam room. huge storage spaces. • duplicatable-- easy to make dream home come true with resource furniture and self-made furniture. • renovation--1. hanging on the ceiling slide rail could have a 360 degree view enjoy watching TV from living room, bedroom and office. 2. Folding slide wall provide private space. It also hides like a closet door when folding against the wall. 3. closets and shelves function as walls to separate spaces. 4. eco-friendly materials & energy conserving bathroom system. • contract-- black and white color, make the space into a modern and cool world • comfortable--even though when the sliding wall is closed, the master bedroom is big enough to move around. It is what I am willing to create--a comfortable place to live, rest, and have fun!!
