DesignerXiaoqian Dong, Guanqun Wang are interior design students in University of Central Oklahoma. They have won the "ROBERT BRUCE THOMPSON LIGHT FIXTURE DESIGN COMPETITION 2010" First place and Second place. They also have outstanding performances and have won "Dean's Honor Roll 2011". As interior designers, they believe that "Getting in new teaching , improving in practice, learning is endless".

Entry Description

In this house, tile is no long a tool of basic floor and wall, it also could be an essential decorated element. We are trying to find a best way to let tiles “glow” all around the house. Not only by applying them with different colors and pattern directions, but also by cooperating with light. The lighting concept engages the tile decorations to create a dramatic and unparalleled atmosphere. Tiles on living room wall are extraordinary mix of technical and aesthetic qualities that recreate the attraction and allure. Arrange them with different directions create a magic wall painting effect. It allows colors, sizes and textures to be randomly combined with the matching of joints in accordance with the minimalist requirements of modern interior design. Lighting helps create different value of shading on tiles. In bedroom, a delicate play of contrasts between glossy and satin, natural and lapped surfaces achieves stunning decorative results. Mosaic shows the best effect when down light pours on mosaic decoration wall. In bathroom, simple forms and colors innovative material and precise decorations define enchanting contemporary spaces.
