Wheelly: a new image, a new way to be called and looked to, a shelter, a cart. Using a wheel as a CITY LANGUAGE, we planned a 150cm x 40cm cart to pass every door and to become a STATUS SYMBOL: as the businessman is the one with the overnight bag; the homeless will be the one with the colored wheel, no more a begger. Based on the ROLLER BEARING TECNOLOGY, Wheelly is made with rubber, aluminium and pressed paper rollers to be 100% RECYCLABLE. The internal frame is designed with a sequence of holes to hang a 250 lt cloth bag and daily stuff. Thanks to two folding polyester resin tents the cart become a PROTECTED AND INTIMATE shelter with an insulated sleeping space and a collecting one where keeping staff or recovering your pet. LOGOS makes the cart to be less expensive or free and the opportunity TO BRING MESSAGES. Wheelly is designed to COLONIZE AND LIVE ALL URBAN REALITY on its own or connected to other identities to create multible living shelter and unexpected colored allocations. The project try to change and give a new point of view about the homeless condition,by giving not only a shelter, but even an chance for reintegration. In the morning the cart helps in moving and storing, but also giving several occasion for a job: playing instruments, selling newspapers, recycling. During the night, becoming a shelter, it gives the right privacy and intimacy that all human beings should have.Stimulating Companies and Governments to work on social matters, Wheelly not meant to be the final solution to the problem, but to focus attention to the issue, trying to tear down the wall of social indifference, fostering integration, prejudice crossing and ensure a better life.

Founded by Paolo Emilio Bellisario, Cristian Cellini, Andrea Cingoli and Francesca Fontana, ZO_loft architecture & design is an architectural and product design practice with operative offices in Italy, France and UK. ZO_loft was born believing in mobile, sustainable, and flexible architecture, design and urban space. Planning and managing the changement ZO_loft is following its aims by reinventing or hybridizing functions, contaminating or showing an apparent funcional disgregation. Since its founding ZO_loft is networking with national and international partners mixing an ongoing research and experiences, creating new connections for knowledge and innovation on a common research and experimentation about dynamics of contemporary design. ZO_loft proposes to discover and use inexpensive and sustainable technologies and materials, to analize recovery and recycling processes, to investigate in human’s life-style and activities, providing easy marketing strategies and better understanding consumer’s needs. Since 2011 ZO_loft is partner of the urban lab Cityvision. They collaborate with with the Faculty of Architecture of Pescara and the Quasar Institute - Design University of Rome.
