Entry Description

Wine Anatomy
Thesis Statement: To investigate a permanent architectural typology to re-define new human interaction of space by its structures and design of building, to draw attention to wine education to fast booming wine culture in Hong Kong.
Taking the opportunity of the fast booming wine economy and culture in Hong Kong, The main intent of this project is to create an architectural typology like an wine theme park, incorporating with the full spectrum of wine from grow to production to consumption and other related programs. By this hybrid wine park, it aims to:
1: Draw a new type of tourism to Hong Kong by combining:
- Use of architectural attraction as many wineries employ start architects to design their vineyards such as Tondonia Winery Pavilion by Zaha Hadid, Faustino Winery by Foster + Partners etc.
- Attraction of production education as tourism such to examples such as Heineken/ Bols Factory Tour, Hershey’s world.
-: Variety of Wine related activities and program in reaction to wine culture crave in Hong Kong, as a accelerator for wine consumption, also promoting stronger position of Hong Kong as Asia’s wine hub
2: Promote wine local production in to Hong Kong encouraging smaller manufacture footprint.
