Entry Description

A two-story Penthouse located in a high-rise building in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida. It has five bedrooms and six bathrooms, total of 5,600 sq.ft. The challenge here was to create a contemporary home for a client that comes from a traditional background. They wanted to have a predominantly white style that wasn’t too cool or sterile looking. We created an interplay between shades of white und grey, some very few but strong accent colors, such as blue, yellow and orange, natural hues that reflect colors of the beach, and selected finishes with interesting and contrasting textures, patters, reflection and tactility. Lighting (decorative and architectural), glass and mirrors played a major role in our design decisions. We wanted the space to look light and translucent but at the same time luxurious and rich… clean and modern yet inviting. We based our design decisions on the client’s taste, the architecture of the building, and the location in order to create a second residence that our Chicago client could call “his Miami home.”
