Photography exhibition provisional power combines historical records and conceptual artworks from the MAM collection. Curated by Eder Chiodetto, the exhibition features 86 works connected by the theme of power and society’s hierarchisation – establishing a dialogue between conceptual works and documental images by artist Mauro Restiffe, the collective Mídia Ninja, and photojournalists Orlando Brito and Alcir da Silva, amongst others. provisional power aims to examine power in its different spheres of social living by looking at documental images and conceptual artworks – most of them politically charged – that use photography as a medium. The show is curated by Eder Chiodetto, who is also the curator of the museum’s Photography Collectors Club. Featuring all the 86 pieces exhibited in the museum, this catalogue explores the curatorship process combined with the architectural concept created for the show, where the photographs were displayed side-by-side on a large single wall.
