Entry Description

The project is suggestion about Science and Art building of Harvard University which is planed to move from Cambridge to Allston.
Main topic is how to mix different two programs in terms of the relationship of the programs, science and art considering the local
condition.
Gap is not difference but the space where connection can happen with each other program. Abstract gap is between programs by
study relationship between science and art and then a physical gap between the programs and urban could be brought. In terms of
consideration about how gap works about different two programs, surface intruding into the gaps make interpretation about connection
among science and art and urban; Some program doesn?t need to be rigid space and others such as science lab need more
fixed room which laboratory facilities can be adjusted. In addition, in terms of urban approach, surface can make a new public
space which can be originated from the gaps; through single surface, continuous relation can be generated. Art program or public space could be free from limit by program, In other words, Science program require more fixed room which can accept the laboraorty facilities. Therefore, studio in art program adjoins the surface and lab in science program according to each program. In addition, public spcae adjoined to the surface can have more various situations from continous space.
