Bio

Our very first design project was la Bibliochaise. Ten years ago we lived in a very small place, full of books and with nearly nowhere to sit. Problems are always the best inspirations. Our first drawing of la Bibliochaise in that same year was a cube in which to sit in and with slits all around to put books in. Those slits all together contained 5 metres of books.
Geometry is magic. Each time you draw a cube something wonderful can happen.
We worked in advertising at the time as a creative team (Giovanni art director/Alis?e copywriter) so our new life in design started years later. When we had enough ideas to start it, Bibliochaise, Piola, il Buddino...we presented our work. In 2005 we left advertising and started manufacturing all our projects. 2006 at the Fuorisalone during the Salone del Mobile in Milan was our first show and it has been exciting ever since.
For the Bibliochaise an italian wood manufacturer especially prepared a new measure of a special strong and very light material usually used for boats called Larimar which was fantastic for us.
Sitting and living in the middle of your favorite books is a very strong feeling, it's like sitting in the middle of yourself, of your mind, every book you read becomes part of you and of who you are. And to have them all together, seeing them grow inside and around you is incredible.
The visual concept of this feeling is la Bibliochaise.
