The owners desired for an open, unbound space and gave us a freehand over the whole design. Taking this open mindset, we found inspiration from the lightness and delicacy in the open plan of a loft.
All walls were knocked down; letting one’s eyes to run down the 37-foot long apartment. This design meant we captured wholly the stunning view of Hong Kong’s longest suspension bridge, Tsing Ma Bridge, through the balcony doors that ran the full length of the apartment.
Two rows of bookshelves serve as both storage and perfect partitions to delineate out a living area, working area, and bedroom. Most important, shelves not filled up completely that allows lighting to come through from the next room, charging the apartment with a natural brightness.
