Krishibid Institution Bangladesh(KIB) is a complex housing the professional body of agriculturists in Bangladesh. It is an institution of immense importance for this agricultural country.
It contains a 100 person auditorium, a 500 person multipurpose hall, a 300 person projection gallery, a training center with class rooms, dorm facilities, club facilities with a swimming pool, an institution office and rentable offices. The varied programs are distributed in two blocks and in three major zones: public, semi-private and private. They are both connected ans separated by means of design elements like a plaza, bridge, courtyard etc.
KIB is climate responsive as it takes advantage of natural resources in its planning and operations by ensuring natural sunlight, southern breeze, shaded western façade and water harvesting. Green, plaza and conglomeration spaces in layers revive the traditional “courtyard” concept. KIB depicts honesty through its functional clarity and material while representing its time and essence.
