AVA communities are known for being built in eclectic neighborhoods—and AVA Little Tokyo
certainly fits that description. At the intersection of Little Tokyo and the LA Arts district, this
property caters to energized urban residents that long for personalized spaces. The playful
techno aesthetic of the building is reflected in the signage through materials and design. TCA
Graphic Design Studio worked closely with the owner and the interior design firm to develop
the property’s individual brand. The large scale signage and wayfinding system includes both
code and marketing signage for two buildings. This property brand is reflected in the signage
from the polished acrylic and plywood materials that invoke custom skateboards and street
art to the neo-punk color scheme and subtle origami references.
