Entry Description

The project is located between two
domestic top university campus – Dalian
University of Technology and Dalian
Maritime University. Based on the several
problems in the base- the function is
single and the level is low, which cannot
meet the requirements of two
universities and the city; the pedestrian
flow and the vehicle flow are mixed and
the vehicle flow is not consistent; the
lack of public space with the boring
pedestrian space as well as the non-
distinctive landscape. The design tries to
strengthen the connection between
two campuses, linking two campuses by
building an elevated pedestrian system
and forming two sunken plazas at two
ends of the pedestrian system, with the
distribution of commercial and cultural
function along the pedestrian system
and plazas, to meet the requirements of
college students and community
residents, making this area a place of
vitality.
