Entry Description

This behemoth 3,700 sq ft apartment in Singapore (large by local standards), was moulded by Spacedge Designs to the lifestyle and functional needs of its occupants, a Norwegian family with two teenage children. The goal was to have a home with an immediate sense of light, air and space, and this was achieved by removing unwanted non-structural walls to expand the spaces horizontally and reshaping existing spaces. The stunning luxurious openness of the living area, flanked by the kitchen, bedrooms, and a TV zone, is one result of these machinations. Guided by the key concept of simplicity, the firm gave the interiors a neutral colour scheme as well as crisp proportions and profiles. This gave it a sense of contemporary sophistication, and became the perfect canvas for the family's collection of Scandinavian and Asian furnishings, which add colour and shape to define each area.
