Great cities have great moments—Paris in the 1920s, London in the 1960s, Berlin in the 1990s. Downtown Los Angeles in the 2010s? We think so. In bars and restaurants, stores and galleries, concert halls and theaters, lofts and creative offices the excitement is infectious. Watching all this, we decided to put together this book to share what’s happening. We soon realized that a great moment is defined by the people who create it.
District Book//DTLA is an annual coffee table guidebook, with features on art, shopping, culture, history, secret eating/drinking spots, and notable individuals in the community. We hope to help visitors and residents to navigate this unique neighborhood with extra knowledge and appreciation.
The book is mainly to be enjoyed by hotel visitors, so it's designed for shorter attention spans, designed with rhythmic and dynamic layouts, many full-bleed photos, eye-catching hand-crafted illustrations, accompanied with clear typography and minimal copy.
