Woobius: Simply simple

Lead Designers
Entry Description

Designed by architects, for architects, Woobius is a bold endeavour to transform the user's experience and perception of file sharing. Woobius simplifies and facilitates the communications between companies that collaborate on construction projects. Its aims are clarity, efficiency, speed, and cost-effectiveness, its philosophy summarised in two words: "Simply simple."

Clarity, because no one has the time or money to spend learning to use new software nowadays. We believe that software should be immediately intuitive, instantly usable and useful, without requiring the user to absorb yet another arbitrary perspective.

Efficiency, because the lack of it is wasteful and unnecessary. Software that requires its users to jump through hoops to achieve basic tasks should be a thing of the past.

Speed, because when previously slow activities become quick, or even instantaneous, new realms of possibilities are opened up.

Cost-effectiveness, because these tools, with their potential to revolutionise the architectural world, should be available to everyone.

Woobius brings all those qualities together to provide a new, revolutionary, "simply simple" collaboration tool with the potential to transform the way architectural practices and consultants work together.

Bio

Having gained a Bachelor degree (University of Hong Kong) and a Master degree (University of Nottingham) in architecture, Bob first worked at leading architectural firm Foster + Partners in 2002. There, he worked on major projects, including the ?100 million ($160m) redevelopment of Her Majesty Treasury and a ?60 million ($96m) commercial development in central London. In 2006, he joined Make Architects, a young and exciting architectural practice in London founded by world class architect Ken Shuttleworth. Since then, he has been involved in the design of three iconic buildings and a masterplan at the University of Nottingham, a ?1 billion ($1.6 billion) luxury appartment and high end office development in central London, and a $450 million iconic sports stadium in Las Vegas.

In 2007 he founded Woobius, a start-up providing collaboration tools for architects and designers. Its first offering was delivered in early 2008 and enjoyed immediate success within the architectural community through its easy to use interface and no non-sense approach.
