Entry Description: Inspired by the mathematical and computational geometric concept, the Delaunay triangulation algorithm, this distinctive metallic cubist-style dining table stands 84”L x 42”W x 30.5”H. A Delaunay triangulation for a set of points in the plane is a triangulation such that no point is inside the circumcircle of any triangle, thereby maximizing the minimum angle of all triangles in the triangular network. Here embodies a striking example of this precision brought to life in a unique, contemporary collage of polished steel triangles, each individually and painstakingly made from a composite material coated with resin, sprayed with a liquidized metal, smoothed and polished to create a sleek steel finish to form a majestic piece of furniture design. The artful triangular-covered base (38.5”L x 20”W x 29.75”H in size) perfectly holds the table’s gleaming glass top, that beautifully showcases the angular mélange below.
