Entry Description

Inspired by the mathematical and computational geometric concept, the Delaunay triangulation algorithm, this distinctive metallic cubist-style dining table stands 84”L x 42”W x 30.5”H. A Delaunay triangulation for a set of points in the plane is a triangulation such that no point is inside the circumcircle of any triangle, thereby maximizing the minimum angle of all triangles in the triangular network. Here embodies a striking example of this precision brought to life in a unique, contemporary collage of polished steel triangles, each individually and painstakingly made from a composite material coated with resin, sprayed with a liquidized metal, smoothed and polished to create a sleek steel finish to form a majestic piece of furniture design. The artful triangular-covered base (38.5”L x 20”W x 29.75”H in size) perfectly holds the table’s gleaming glass top, that beautifully showcases the angular mélange below.

Bio

Craig Van Den Brulle began his career in the home furnishings industry over ten years ago with the opening of his first boutique on Elizabeth Street in Manhattan. Van Den Brulle’s gallery,
which expanded in 2007, includes an incredible collection of modern twentieth century designers that draw today’s most influential interior designers, architects, magazine editors, and collectors. From the
gallery’s inception, Van Den Brulle always held a strong interest in designing his own pieces, and the VAN DEN BRULLE collection provides upscale furniture and home essentials inspired by clean lines and
modern simplicity. Van Den Brulle’s current design interests and pursuits involve the utilization of traditional
materials within the scope of digital fabrication technologies, as seen in the most recent addition to the VAN DEN BRULLE collection, the Delaunay Table.
