Entry Description: A natural extension of the design/build architecture firm Marmol Radziner, Marmol Radziner jewelry transforms industrial remnants into personal, portable, architectural fragments. Craftsmen in our metal shop individually fabricate and finish each piece from commercial-grade bronze. In the same workshop where our firm's architectural models and full-scale building details are made, leftover strips of bronze are formed and crafted into rings and bracelets. Perforated holes within the bronze add depth and texture to the otherwise unadorned material. Designed to be as individual as those they adorn, the patinas of each piece evolve over time in response to the wearer. No two finishes will ever start or stay the same, with irregularities reflecting the handcrafting process, unique quality of the raw materials, and specific experience of each person who wears the jewelry. Over time, the patina of the darker finishes will lighten and the natural finish will develop a darker patina. The collection was initially inspired when Principal Ron Radziner could not find jewelry for himself that was neither too flamboyant nor too conservative. The resulting pieces are both elemental and elegantly balanced and are available in natural bronze, antique, and dark patina finishes, proportioned accordingly for men and women.
