Entry Description

FIREWORKS is a Champagne Cart for Kempinski Hotels.

The designed champagne cart is inspired by fireworks. The unique shape of the cart gives the impression of surprising to the viewers. Therefore, the Fireworks Champagne Cart meets the needs of five star hotels such as Kempinski.

Fireworks champagne cart is characterized by twenty eight tubes with different heights. The shape is designed as such to keep sparkling glasses and bottles desirable during its consumption. Clarity is important, as the visual enjoyment of the bottle and glasses is an important aspect of champagne cart.

Functionally, double wall movable pockets are designed to hold the bottles. Gel ice pack cooler helps keep bottle cool and fresh for hours which can cool it in 5 minutes, and re-usable.

The aesthetically pleasing results of anodizing combined with the functional benefits of increased durability offer a unique design for the cart.

The unique anodized finish is the only one in the metals industry that satisfies each of the factors that must be considered when selecting a high performance aluminum finish which are durability, color stability, ease of maintenance, aesthetics, cost, and health & safety.

Bio

Coming from a country where the majority does not consider design as a real study field, my objective is to prove how art and design are powerful and worthy. Where I come from the female, traditionally, has played only a limited employment opportunity. Our generation is to prove that our socioeconomic role is much bigger than the traditional one. Therefore each one of us is an ambassador whose objective is to expand the active role of females in the society.

“Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try” I could be described as pleasant, diverse, and active. I have a passion for traveling and understanding different cultures and have always sought to acquire diverse experiences. I am determined to broaden my scope by acquiring knowledge in a range of subjects, as I strongly believe this will positively influence my professional work.
My Interior Design degree, which I completed at Dar Al-Hekma College at Jeddah, has given a strong foundation to my technical skills which I decided to develop further by working on a different scale, thus determining my choice of a Masters in Product Design. Designing involves many long, complex, and intricate processes and the application of basic practical skills, so it was crucial for me to pursue my advanced studies in a motivating and challenging environment.
I chose to join ECAL, a prominent school of design based in Lausanne, because their curriculum is based on projects that students undertake under the supervision of renowned designers and are presented to the Research & Development teams of distinctive brands in the luxury industry. This allows students to get a real feel of professional life.
Over the past year, I have worked with Marti Guixe on the design of a new chocolate and packaging for Nestlé. I have collaborated with Pierre Charpin on a champagne cart for Kempinski hotels. I designed a woman’s bag for Audemars Piguet with Ronan Bouroullec, worked with Barber Osgerby on the elaboration of a Capsule dispenser for Nespresso and designed a music box for Reuge with the Campana brothers. My concepts for Nestlé, Kempinski hotels, and Nespresso were approved for further.
ECAL’s combination of theory and practical work has given me confidence to engage in the professional world with a true sense of responsibility and dedication. It has also taught me the importance of being a good coordinator, of respecting deadlines and, most importantly, the true value of teamwork.
Thanking you for your consideration and time, and for further information don’t hesitate to contact me.
Yours sincerely,
