Located at a busy business district in Bangkok, the new 38650 square feet McDonald's office redefines the typical office culture. The project, completed in April 2011, was designed in response to McDonald's value that believes a team of well-trained individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences working together in an environment that fosters respect and drives high level of engagement is essential to their continuing success. The project aims to create an alluring office that introduces a new way of working, breaking the convention of traditional workplace while creating a balance between visual harmony and work efficiency. The whole office strives to inspire creativity, giving everyone the freedom to think, work, and relax. Upon entering the space, the visitors are greeted with vivid colors, playful shapes and forms, and various materials which all together creates a fun and energetic atmosphere. These elements flow throughout the entire office space, interacting in harmony to form a dynamic workplace. A spirited zest of energy introduced in all the different spaces immerses the users in a surprising, imaginative, and effective environment. McDonald's looks after the welfare of their staff in an exceptional way. The diversity of backgrounds and personalities of the staff inspired the creation of different office-'landscapes' within the space. The colorful and lively open plan general work area combined amongst the offices, meeting rooms and open break out areas allows more interaction and communication among the staff. The casual communal spaces including the waiting area, pantry, and break out zones are designed to encourage staff bonding together and make them feel like home thus creating a sense of belonging. The break out area, infused with daylight, incorporates greenery and casual seating arrangement creating an outdoor ambiance, blowing a fresh air to the whole office environment. Here the staff are able to conduct informal discussions.
