This 1700 square foot condominium in San Francisco’s Marina District glimmers in a light summer palette of dusty mauve, cerulean and shades of grey, reflecting the homeowner’s personal fashion preferences. As designer Rachel Blindauer explains, “I find that most people like living in the colors they look best in and wear the most, so I use their individual color palette as a starting point.”
Rachel bathed the walls in custom colors and furnish the rooms with arresting items from across the globe. The Murano chandelier traveled all the way from Italy, and the kitchen’s fine art made the journey from France. She also included custom designs, from Tibetan and Nepalese rugs to a California console and mirror. And when all was said and done, the home was filled with travertine, brass, silk velvet, wool, and fine china, and it beamed with the glamour of gold.
