Entry Description

This fall, a limestone corporate office building in midtown Atlanta was brilliantly and permanently transformed into the new SCAD FASH museum of fashion and film at 1600 Peachtree Street on the Atlanta campus of SCAD, the nonprofit, accredited, degree granting Savannah College of Art and Design. Featuring an entirely reconfigured interior and lively interior design by SCAD President and Founder Paula Wallace and SVP Glenn Wallace, SCAD FASH was born as a thriving center for the appreciation, study and analysis of the artistry and business of fashion and the medium of film. 2,000 members of the general public came on opening day to see the sweeping gallery spaces, Film Salon, libraries and labs of SCAD FASH. The debut exhibition: 84 garments by Oscar de la Renta from 1965 to the present, including several looks by new Oscar de la Renta head designer Peter Copping.
