Exclusive Gala Event for IDA 2023 Winners

May 6, 2024

This year’s highly anticipated awards gala is set to unfold at the illustrious National Museum of Art, Architecture & Design in Oslo, Norway, on May 10th. It promises to be an unforgettable evening dedicated to honoring the exceptional achievements of IDA’s winners across the realms of design innovation and creativity.

The National Museum, also known as Nasjonalmuseet, stands as a cultural beacon in Oslo, housing the Norwegian state’s extensive collection of art, architecture, and design artifacts. Boasting over 400,000 works, including iconic pieces like Edvard Munch’s renowned “The Scream” from 1893, it holds the distinction of being the largest museum in the Nordics.

Established in 2003 through the amalgamation of various prestigious institutions, including the Museum of Architecture and the National Gallery of Norway, the National Museum’s latest chapter unfolds with the unveiling of its new building at Vestbanehallen. Designed by Kleihues + Schuwerk Gesellschaft von Architekten, the building exudes a sense of dignity and longevity, harmonizing seamlessly with Oslo’s architectural landscape.

The centerpiece of the new museum is its striking exhibition hall, bathed in light and poised to host a myriad of temporary exhibitions. Meanwhile, the rooftop terrace offers visitors a breathtaking panorama of the inner Oslo fjord, providing an idyllic setting for contemplation and reflection.

As the awards ceremony unfolds within this architectural marvel, attendees will bask in the glory of design excellence across five distinct disciplines: Architecture, Interior, Product, Graphic, and Fashion design. The gala serves not only as a celebration of individual talent but also as a testament to the enduring power of creativity to shape and enrich our world.
