Brandon Perhacs was born in Port Townsend, Washington, and spent his formative years playing and working in his parents bronze foundry and machine shop. There he learned multiple skills, and developed a passion for sculpture and design.
After high school, he ran a metal design/fabrication and machine shop in Seattle for a number of years before heading South to study environmental design in 2001 at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA. Upon returning to the Pacific Northwest, he designed and built a concrete, steel, and glass home, studio, and gallery, where Perhacs Studio is now based. Over the years his interests and creative passions have spanned the gamut from industrial design to lighting, sculpture, jewelry, packaging design, furniture, architecture, and interior design. Brandons designs have been featured in design stores, museums stores, and modern architectural spaces around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in NYC, and the Red Dot Design Museum in Singapore. He also has a passion for rust, concrete, ferns, turret, hot rolled steel, Rilke, and extremely spicy food. |
