Joel Avery, has been exploring the boundaries of design and technology for more than fifteen years. Since completing coursework at New York?s School of Visual Arts and gaining his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Andrews University, he has assisted individuals, organizations and small businesses through contracted design consulting and professional seminars. This includes well-received programs for the American Institute of Architects at the local and national levels. Additionally Joel has produced one or more presentations for the National Organization of Minority Architects every year since 2003.
CREATiVENESS, Joel?s firm based in the Philadelphia area, provides a variety of design, technology and consulting services for companies of all sizes. Web design, graphic design, IT consulting, 3D visualization and presentations are just a part of the firm?s repertoire. The talents of Joel?s team are also sought by a wide range of businesses and not-for-profit organizations in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and other localities across the country.
In 1999 the newly founded firm was recognized for its design skills by garnering sixth place (out of 870 entries) in the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Competition. In 2002, 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2008 Graphic Design USA presented CREATiVENESS with American Graphic Design Awards ?for excellence in communication and graphic design?. The awards received this year were for brand new web presences for the firm formerly known as Susan Maxman & Partners in Philadelphia - SMParchitects.com and the new online home of Cincinnati based DNK Architects found at DNKarchitects.com.
