The site chosen for this addition of a country performance stage and an auditorium in rural China, was a red brick blast furnace built in the golden time for iron and steel industry.
By activating the village with this adaptive reuse project, we invited local villagers and craftsmen participated in the construction of this village space node and memory carrier of rural industry, aiming to stimulate their enthusiasm and inner pride. Based on the design drawings, they created new kinds of building techniques and architectural vocabulary with rural aesthetic in this cooperate project.
