After entering the 21st century, with the surge in the number of tourists and the increasingly serious problem of rising seawater, Venice's water transportation system is facing great pressure. Huge cruise ships with frequent sailings are wreaking havoc on the lagoon ecology and Venice's urban fabric.
The aim of the project was to design a sustainable and healthy cruise terminal, creating a diverse and interesting harbor community for tourists and locals, while also responding to the severe problem of rising seas.
