Entry Description

The Aga Khan Academy in Dhaka stands as an architectural language, skillfully resurrecting the venerable design principles of ancient Mahaviharas, abstracting the spirituality of learning. The use of Bengal's red bricks, floating and interwoven, narrates a tale of tradition and innovation. The academy is a meticulous orchestration of Maidan, courtyards, verdant rooftops, giggling of the children celebrating the wind, the sun, light, shade, shadow and penumbra.
