laser cut hat

This hat is inspired by one of the Chinese traditional folk arts, paper－cut for window decoration, which often be used in Chinese New Year to render festival atmosphere and make a good wish for the new year. The red color symbolizes auspiciousness in Chinese Culture. It is different from traditional way of making hat. I used laser cut technology to create patterns on an acrylic board and then used heat gun to manipulate the hat shape. By combining traditional Chinese patterns with a western hat silhouette, I want to create a new contemporary and elegant look.
