This studio provides a renowned landscape photographer the space within which to create, mock-up and refine, full-scale exhibit layouts with museum quality lighting. The lofty exhibit gallery is overlooked by a mezzanine for ancillary work spaces, from which the seismically upgraded historic masonry shell and new trusses of the gable roof are fully visible. The building’s strong symmetry is reinforced by a central stair and continuous skylights along the roof ridge, which bring soft, diffused natural light into the space.
