Entry Description

Public waste bins are an overlooked necessity in the urban
landscape. Their ability to guide sorting and provide education are often neglected in the hyper-utilitarian and bureaucratic design process. Through managing existing waste, we can begin to imagine a world where we create less of it. With careful thought for material sustainability and social systems, Cicadar© has created a customizable public waste bin units for the busiest city streets and parks. Cicadar© bins are more than waste collectors, they are social service providers both through added features and a certification.
