Manchaha, a hindi word popular in Rajasthan’s weaving community, means “expression of my heart”.The rug Aas Pass by Manju is part of Manchaha,a sustainable initiative where weaver’s get to design their own rug spontaneously on the loom. Her first rug she ever designed, Manju is inspired by her surroundings, like her chulha and traditionally painted walls. She has brought to life the patterns formed by cow dung covering the floors and walls of her village homes. Aas Pass is made of 222,184 individual knots in every square meter using hand-spun leftover yarn batches which cannot be used afresh.
