Entry Description

This thought-provoking book allows a visual walk through 'On the Origin of Art', the most ambitious exhibition of MONA, Museum of Old and New Art, Australia. Four scientist-curators explore the evolutionary question why humans make art. Elaborately produced, four thumb tabs lead as tactile entry into the white (theories) and black (artworks) sections. Each curator is represented by a symbol forming part of the exhibition logo, which glow-in-the-dark ink on the cover and slip case reveals. Do you agree with curator-cognitive psychologist Steven Pinker: 'Art is like cheesecake for the mind'?
