Phenomenal with longtime non-profit partner Higher Heights, took out a full-page ad in The New York Times to celebrate the passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, which was signed into law 55 years ago. Recognising August as the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage, the 19th Amendment ostensibly applied to all women, but in practice Black women were still prevented from voting. It was not until the passage of the Voting Rights Act — almost a half-century later — that Black women were fully enfranchised, the culmination of a centuries-long battle for Black voting rights.
Trisha Tan is a Malaysian multidisciplinary designer, design director, and illustrator based in Brooklyn, New York City. She works at the intersection of brand, strategy, and digital design. She believes research should inform design—creating solutions that are mindful, functional, beautiful, sustainable, and equitable. Trisha is always curious and is committed to creating excellent work that enriches our humanity while also preserving our environment, advocating for women, BIPOC, and immigrant designers in design, and in being an all-round good person.
