The Shangen Blossom Pavilion is a rebellion against this over tidied-up, renovated village. It comes from a swirling geometry that is a response to the surroundings: the need for assembly by the bridge, the desire to climb for the views, and the structural support. The cone collects rainwater and grows ferns. The form is a very complex geometry generated by computer, but was later manually simplified to fit the technical capacities of construction in villages. It breaks the boundary of building and landscape, and blends existing features into a vivid built environment for people to enjoy.
