Having similar capabilities to Instagram, Brushstroke from Code Organa is an app that uses filters to turn your photos into a wide variety of painting styles. The simple and elegant app design needed a clever and eye-catching icon to stand out both in the crowded iTunes App store, as well as on users’ devices. The whole concept of the app is painting and creative use of color, so we brainstormed about colorful things and ideas. Once we got to thinking of animals, we played with the illustration of a parrot. Turning the wing into paintbrush, we definitely hit the sweet spot.
