Architecturally planned as a shopping arcade and expertly repurposed as an early-years learning center and kindergarten, the new school is a colorful space that has gone through major changes, a stimulating environment that generates as much energy on site as it consumes, characterized by a unique use of shapes, lines and colors beneficial to learning.
The school measures a total of 2,400 square feet and contains 17 classrooms. Vivid-hued details punctuate the wood-textured, jungle-inspired interiors throughout. Play times are woven into the school’s curriculum, which Novus Penetralis kept in mind when they spaced out adjacent classrooms with communal amenities. Wall beams crafted in the shape of tree branches are the perfect complements to a jungle-inspired concept, while baby-proofed details such as curved edges and rounded corners are made fundamental to the overall cartoonish aesthetic.
