My collection, Glory Dance, is inspired by a dance hall that my great great grandfather opened in the 1940s. The collection is a call to bring back the authentic experiences people once created through music and dance. My grandmother today always comments on the fact that no one “really dances” anymore. This is what inspired me. The collection features antique grain bags. Working with textiles that already have a story within them steered my design process. With inspiration from folk art, rural American traditions, and the 1940s, the collection is an ode to the past.
