Entry Description

GRAFT redevelops an entire ensemble in the vibrant heart of Berlin Schöneberg. It is here
on the grounds of the listed former post office, built at the beginning of the 20th
century, where the Kabbalah Centre of Berlin found its home.
Situated on the third floor of a richly decorated cross building, visitors and guests
enter the Kabbalah Centre through a spacious foyer which offers views to a spectacular
historic 7.5m high coffered ceiling. The high room with its round arches has been freed
from all the interim built fixtures, giving it back its generous hall effect. The coffered
ceiling has been extensively excavated in order to experience the vast space in its full
extent. The idea of the renovation is to experience the old and new architecture from
different angles, while offering flexible small and intimate rooms as well as large and
generous spaces.
