The Edge

THE EDGE, a Williamsburg, Brooklyn based mixed-use building, encapsulates an existing building with new construction that mirrors its area's hybrid context by interpreting and consolidating the varied typologies of this dynamically emergent neighborhood.

The six story building integrates a restaurant, communal facility and 9 apartments, situated in the existing and annexed building above. The residences share a rooftop garden offering a balanced, smooth transition from indoors to outdoors and fosters interaction among individuals and nature.

A custom wire mesh encloses the roof garden that contains blurred graphic letter formations over the corner of the building. Through its architectural and artistic context, THE EDGE represents a fusion of urban and cultural typologies; a perfect analogy of the multi- layered character of its environment.
