Museum of Zhang Zhidong in Wuhan mainly tells about Zhang Zhidong, a famous celebrity in Chinese history, and his reforms in Wuhan city. Facing the situation of lacking exhibits and Wuhan already has several exhibition halls related to Zhang Zhidong, the pavilion breaks through the traditional linear narrative and presents a city’s process of modernization leading by industrialization. Our curatorial plan responds to the theme of historical figures and urban development through thematic division, inviting the audience to join us in rethinking the relationship between history and today.
