Inspired by the traditional custom and culture of the "red envelope" – which is used to convey blessings among people – the Taiwanese opera's spirit of loyalty, filial piety, chastity and righteousness is complemented by the comic style that strikes a chord in the hearts of youths to endow red envelopes with innovative visual appeal and congratulatory meaning. In doing so, the performing art of opera becomes more relevant to everyday life, continuing the heritage of traditional Taiwanese opera and promoting its qualities.
