CODE: Chromosome X/Y

CODE: Chromosome X/Y employs innovative and simple concept to disrupt the boundaries of producing male and female sewing patterns.

This concept is inspired by the sex determinations system Chromosome X/Y in biology. For both genders, they share the same first factor- X, and with different second factor, X or Y, the individual will become different gender.

By reforming the pleat, the modular design mechanism transforms the clothes into multiple components and with simple mix and match, the CODE: Chromosome X/Y empowers the garment to create format in both genders easily.

Fou Zhih-Chi愚者 is a Taiwan design studio focusing on experimental garments and design. We try to explore the possibility of clothing through modular design. We also care about environmental and social issues.
