This stool attempts to transcend the conventional qualities of plywood by assuming a whimsical sculptural form. The stool rocks but is kept from rocking too far backwards with its anthropomorphic "tail."
The chair was modeled in Rhinoceros 3D, and CNC routed in a combination of 3D routing and 2D cuts. Although it appears to be a solid mass, the chair is actually hollow, which conserves material and minimizes its weight, with a wall thickness between 2-3".
