I have created this collection in midst of pandemic. It has been hard for everyone and specially for people living in New York and around. Our bedrooms became our home offices and we were stuck inside our houses doing day to day chores. View from our windows was the only outside world. My looks are inspired by the view from my window and the idea that why not live this new phase of our lives in style. The fabrics used are natural and sustainable silk, super net, cotton and cotton flannel . Also, all the embroidery and beading represents nature and are done by hand by me.
Shubha's inspiration comes from her life in two extremely opposite cultures. She grew up in India and fortunate enough to experience a unique and colorful culture which is full of embellishments, embroideries and beading. Four years back she moved to New York and started studying in Parsons School of Design. She enjoys marrying her understanding of beading and embroidery which she learned in India with western silhouettes. She has worked for the fashion houses like Naeem Khan and Bibhu Mohapatra.
