Type Thursday began in 2014, is a monthly meeting for people who love letterforms across the globe. Being a volunteering designer at Type Thursday, San Francisco Sumangla designed six weekly promotional posts for their Instagram page to invite the guests for the event and to update the followers about upcoming events. As a designer, her idea was to learn new software techniques with every new post to make it look funky, dynamic, and eye-catchy. Due to covid, all personal events went online thus these posts created a buzz amongst the Type of geeks not only in San Francisco but around the world.
Sumangla is a multidisciplinary visual designer with 4+ years of experience holding an independent O1 Artist Visa for Extraordinary Ability with a keen interest in design technology and strategic design. Currently working for a design agency called Emotive Brand and also as a freelance social media designer for Second Harvest of Silicon Valley. After pursuing he MFA in Graphic Design at the Maryland Institute College of Art she joined their graphic design team in 2018.
