Entry Description

Located at the CNE Grounds in Toronto, Ontario, the Elevated Pedestrian Connection provides a all-season second-level link between the historic Beanfield Conference Centre and Hotel X. The walkway is 36.3 m long.
The truss was designed to take tension only, producing slim rods with cord pin connectors.
The walkway is supported at two locations: Hotel X, and a central pier with a16.5 m long cantilever to the Beanfield Centre. This soft connection minimizes the impact on the heritage building and allows the bridge to act as a reversible “touchless” structural solution at the interface.
